Bride

On a warm May evening, Duke asked me where we should go out for dinner.  I named a few places and we couldn't decide.  Then Duke mentioned that he was in the mood for Chinese.  I said yes and we went to PF Chang.  What I didn't know what that this dinner would be different.  We had dinner and I left our booth for a moment. As I returned to the table, Duke stopped me and said that our waiter asked him something.  He wanted me to translate it because the waiter said it in Spanish.  I was thinking to myself, ''why would the waiter be asking him anything?''  After the third time, Duke repeated once again, 'Quieres casarte conmigo?'' Which translates to Will you marry me?  And he got down on bended knee and proposed.  And of course, I said YES!

Groom

I purchased the ring back in March and had to keep it hidden from Afua until I felt ready to propose. I was extremely nervous on how I was going to propose to Afua. I wanted to make it just like you see on TV however I knew that was not how she wanted it. I had to truly surprise her because she was so nosy in trying to find out. I know she felt like it would never happen. I asked her to go to lunch at PF Chang and since this was where we met on our first date I thought it would make the most sense for our proposal. She had no idea which I loved because surprising her can be quite difficult. We sat and ate our lunch; at the end of the lunch I went to the bathroom to compose myself. I came back, sat and waited for her, and handed her the ring on one knee and she was so shocked. I asked her to marry me and she said yes which I thought was the greatest joy I had ever experienced. I can still remember it so vividly as if it happened yesterday.
