Passport: You need a passport to travel to Mexico. If you have a passport, make sure it has not expired! If you need a passport, here is the information on how to get one… https://www.usps.com/shop/apply-for-a-passport.htm
Call Credit Card Company: Call your credit card company to let them know you are traveling or they might shut off your credit card thinking it's fraudulent activity. Also make sure to ask if they charge fees since you are using your card in another country. I know that Capital One does NOT charge a fee. All major credit cards except Discover are accepted in Cancun.
Customs: You will need to fill out customs form that you will receive on the plane. You will go through Customs Immigration and present your customs card. Then you will pick up your bags at the baggage claim and wait in line to put your bags through security. They do random screenings and they will have you press this button. If the light is green, you are all set to go through. If the light is red, they will check your bags.
Hotel Transportation from Airport: When you exit after customs, you will head straight outside (passing about 100 different travel companies). Since you are booking through Doris, she will tell you exactly what transfer company you will be going through. There will be signs for this transfer company when you get outside and they will have your names on a list so you'll know you're in the right place.
Hotel Check In: Cancun is similar to many other islands and be prepared for a SLOW resort check-in.
All-Inclusive Resort Bracelet: Upon check-in, you will receive a resort bracelet. Do NOT lose this bracelet or you will be charged for a new one. If you want to take the bracelet off on the day of the wedding, you are allowed but you need to go to the front desk to have them take the bracelet on and off.
