I met Darrell for the first time during my job interview at VOISE Academy. He’ll tell you that he hired me (which is not true) he was just a part of the interview and asked me one question. I had a crush on Darrell the first time I saw him. We became friends right away. “Mr Fun Zone” as they call him at school, set up fun events for our staff so it was easy for us to hang out. I always wanted to be around Darrell. He makes anytime a good time. Our first date was at the Lincoln Park Zoo. Darrell was so nervous to even hold my hand he kept giving me high fives! I thought it was so cute!  Darrell swept me off my feet. He always surprises me. He makes me the best dinners, brings me wine and whoppers just because and even has surprised me with an alley cat in the bathroom! We have some wonderful memories and experiences together. The best experience is obviously the amazing proposal at the zoo. I’m so happy to begin my new journey with the love of my life! Te amo Darrell!!

It was while working at V.O.I.S.E. Academy I met the future Mrs. Mathis, Danica Perez our school's Spanish teacher.  She will deny this story all the time, but I tell the story how it really happened.  I HIRED my future wife for her first teaching position.  Yes it's true I was part of the interview process when Ms. Perez interviewed for the Spanish teaching position at V.O.I.S.E. Academy, and I asked her one question.  I don't care what she says, but it counts, and I'm sticking to my story.  I truly enjoy working with Danica because it makes work so much more worth while.  We get to spend a lot more quality time together and help each other get through our work days.  When we are not at work we like to go out to eat, watch movies, hang out at home with her cats and my dog, or hanging with friends and family.  During the spring and summer time you can catch us at plenty of Cubs games at Wrigley Field.  I think I've made Danica more of a Cubs fan than shes ever been before lol, but those are the qualities that I love about her the most.  She truley makes me happy and I am lucky to spend the rest of my life with her!
