Joel and I travelled to Punta Cana in March together.  The weather was beautiful and our resort was gorgeous.  I couldn't imagine a better place to get engaged.  When we got up in the morning on March 3rd he asked me to go walk down the beach.  I was grumpy and couldn't figure out why he wanted to go on the beach at 7:30am to walk around(completely out of character for him.)  Considering this I said ok after I turned down the offer the morning before and we went to the beach.  We walked up and down the beach multiple times and after me asking if we could go get breakfast, put sunscreen on, sit down....He got down on his knee and pulled out a ring!!
