My friend Erinn asked me to join her at her boyfriend's cabin for the weekend.  Her boyfriend, Jason, was hosting a mountain biking birthday party for his best friend and she was worried she was going to be the only girl and would be bored out of her mind. 

The guys all left for their excursion and Erinn and I went to Franklin, PA for the day.  When we returned, some of the guys were gathered around the fire and some were packing up to head home.  It was then that I met Brian Birch...the long haired, long bearded man (WAYYY longer than this picture portrays) with an amazing sense of humor and an insane way of calculating numbers. 

While around the fire Jason asked, "So I hear you are some kind of rainman or something?" My ears perked up.  Brian said, "Eh it is just a party trick."  Jason said "Well I don't even know what 20% of 100 is."  Everyone laughed and started asking Brian to multiply large numbers. He did it all in his head.  I was hesitant to believe he could spurt out answers so quickly so I pulled out my cell phone to calculate the numbers he was coming up with.  Sure enough he was right - even down the the decimal!  

It was his "beautiful mind" that won me over, not his burly beard , although strangely I didn't mind.  Brian added me on facebook the next day, asked for my number and asked me on a date.  One week later we met for dinner and the rest is history!  I'm so thankful for that invite to the cabin.  He is the best thing and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with my handsome, loving, patient, kind, hardworking, brilliant rainman!
