Casey Harbin & Robert Collins
Our Story
Rob's side of the story:
OK. So lots and lots of people have been asking me to tell how the engagement went down. So for everyone that wants to know here is the story...
Sunday morning Casey and I were getting ready for church. No one else in my family was going, so it was an easy way to get her alone...so i could pop the question. I told her that I wanted to show her around Ft Worth before church, give her a tour of my home town. So we left for church over an hour early! I took Casey every where. We went to the baseball park where i played t-ball, the basketball courts i played on as a kid, my elementary school. I even showed her a tree that I thought was magic when I was a little kid. And every place we stopped at she would say, "Ok, tell me a story about this place" or "so what happened here?" We played this game at about twenty different spots. Some of the places were funny, some were sad, but they were all places that meant something to me. Well we finally went to church where she met all sorts of old friends. After the service i took her around the church and we continued the game. She knew my mom was making lunch for us at 12:30, so we had to head home. I told her there was one place I forgot about. She said we could go there and then head home. So i took her to the levi in Ft Worth. Its a pretty spot with a little river, and pretty grass. Lots of people go there to jog or walk their dogs. We get out of the car, i grabbed her left hand with my right and we stood together looking around. She said, "ok so tell me a story about this place." I took a deep breathe and said, "this is the place where I ask you to marry me!" I knelt down on one knee, pulled the ring box out of my pocket and opened it. I gave her my practiced speech, studdering all the way through, and she said yes! Well she actually shook her head up and down with a big tear filled smile and mumbled this mmmhhhhmmm! (I'm pretty sure she wasn't breathing) So i took that as a yes!!!
So that's the story. I wasn't as smooth as i wanted to be, but i suppose it worked out ok. :-)
