It started at 1:15 when Charles came to pick me up to go to the Frederik Meijer Sculpture Garden ( http://www.meijergardens.org/). It was a beautiful day outside. One of the warmest we've had in Grand Rapids for the past couple of weeks. This was good because we spent most of the day outside admiring the beautiful sculptures. We started in the indoor galleries which were featuring a unique collection of kinetic art. They were really cool because the sculptures were weighted and balanced in such a way that made them move with the air circulation. It was the perfect mix between science and art. I told Charles I wanted one : ) Then we headed outside to walk around the sculpture loop which is a mixture of sculptures and beautiful landscaping. In total it's a 1/2 mile loop so it's a good thing it was warm out. About halfway through the loop we came to the most beautiful waterfall. It was then that Charles grabbed my hand and lead me over to the pond that the falling water pooled into. He started by talking about the perfection of a diamond. Although I wasn't positive what was going on I could tell it was something big because he seemed nervous. He started by describing how hard it is to find a diamond in the rough. How the diamond cutter has to see the potential in the stone. He went into detail about the cut, color, clarity, and carat weight of a diamond and used those to describe everything that I mean to him. Then he pulled the ring out of his pocket, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him! It was everything I could have imagined. I looked him in the eye and said yes!
The wedding and reception will be held at the Embassy Suites - Airport location. The ceremony will start at 4:30. A cocktail hour will follow from 5:15 - 6:15. Next we'll enjoy a delicious dinner at 6:30 and then dance the night away!!

King size suites sleep up to 4 for $109 plus tax and Doubles suites sleep up to 6 for $129 plus tax. Rates will fluctuate based on the number of guests per room and the rates listed above are based on 2 adults. The rooms include a hot breakfast each morning and a happy hour from 5-7 each night. A block is also being held at the Hilton Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport Mall of America location. This hotel is located about 1 mile away from where the ceremony is taking place. Both king and double rooms are $99 plus tax and do not include a breakfast or happy hour. Please book your rooms as soon as possible because they will fill up quickly due to the holiday weekend.
