Our story would be more like a novel! However, we can sum it up by simply saying that our love is the epitome of all the cliches....unending, unconditional, and most of all, undeniable. It took us both a LONG time to realize it, and an even longer time to embrace it, but the important thing is that we finally have! Nothing is more important to us than sharing our lives, and we cannot wait to become man and wife. We sincerely hope you can join us in celebrating as we do just that.
Our wedding ceremony is going to be held at the Playacar Palace Resort in Cancun. We will be married on one of the resort's terraces overlooking the beach! The ceremony will be held at 4:00pm on Friday, November 21st. For those of you planning to be in Cancun for the ceremony, we will keep you informed as to the exact location within the resort. Please note it will be more casual (and humid!) than your typical wedding, so please dress comfortably!
We are having a small reception back home so all our closest of friends and family can share in our celebration and see the photos from Cancun! Here is all the info on that:
When: Saturday, November 29, 2008 @ 12 noon
Where: The Radisson Sacramento, 500 Leisure Lane (off Exposition Blvd. and Hwy 160)
Details: Come hungry and thirsty! We will have a one hour hosted beer and wine bar with hors d'oeuvres, then we will have lunch, wedding cake, and a whole lot of fun. The reception, like the ceremony, will not be super formal or traditional. Come as you are! We just want a chance to celebrate our marriage with our closest of friends and family. We don't need all the traditional bouquet tosses and stuff to make that happen. Following a cocktail hour and lunch, there will be music, dancing, and a few traditional reception events, but mostly it will just be a time to relax and have a good time. If you are wondering what's on the lunch menu - choose from Chicken Marsala, Flat Iron Steak, or Vegetarian Aegean Penne Pasta.
Photographer: Her name is Monica - she is very nice and totally accommodating. Make sure you take one of her cards as her website is on it and you will be able to go to that website to check out the photos a few days later! I'm sure she'll be more than willing to take photos of couples or families as well, so please just ask if she has time if you would like to do that.
A note about gifts: As we mentioned in the invitation, we understand and appreciate that it is traditional to bring a gift to a wedding reception, but please know that they are not necessary or expected for this one! We have our home and all the "stuff" we need. The best gift you can give us is your presence. However, we know that there will be some people who simply cannot resist the urge to give, so for those people we have set up a registry on this website. Just click on the button at the top of this page next to our photos to view our registry. There are several options having to do with helping us pay for our wedding ceremony and honeymoon. Please use the registry if you do desire to give a gift....and many, many thanks in advance.
The nearest airport is the Cancun International Airport and it is quite a ways from the resort (an hour drive I think?). You can arrange transfers at the time you book your accommodations, and we would highly recommend it as we really do not know how to go about that on the day of arrival other than taking a cab...eek. Best bet is to have it planned in advance.
Resort reservations can be made through the website. Go to www.palaceresorts.com and click on the Playacar Palace under the "resorts" heading. Currently, they are offering some promotional pricing and offers. The offer codes are listed on the website.
The Playacar Palace is in Playa Del Carmen. There are several other places to stay if you prefer. If you would like to look into a timeshare or vacation rental (condo, townhouse, etc.), a good place to look is at www.vacationrentals.com.
We are so excited for our big day! This has been a long journey for both of us and we can hardly believe the day we become a married couple is finally in our sights!
