Charity Ginger & Scott Parsons
Location: Moon Palace Resort, Cancun, Mexico
Scott & I met at work in June, 2001. He broke his "6-month" rule for me immediately. We became friends right away. We used to go out afterwork and on weekends with our other Ricoh buddies. Eventually we were both in relationships with other people but we always leaned on each other for love advice and comfort during troubling times.

We became much closer in 2004 but we tried very hard to hide our relationship at work. During this time we told everyone, even ourselves for a while, we were "just friends". On December 31, 2004 we made our relationship official to one another when we decided to officially accept the title "boyfriend and girlfiend". I know it sounds silly to make such a big deal out of these titles but we were terrified that if we made it official our awesome friendship would end if things didn't work out. Both of us were unwilling to risk our friendship for a long time. Finally, we decided to take the "no risk, no reward" approach. At my 30th birthday party on January 7, 2005 we announced it to everyone else...though I think everyone had pretty much figured it out by then anyway! We took our next step together December 11, 2006 when Scott proposed to me at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. It was the most romantic and perfect moment of my entire life. Everyone always asks if Scott asked my Dad for my hand in marriage & if he got on his knee to propose. The answer is yes & yes! Did I mention it was a misty Paris night so he was even kneeling on wet cement? Now that's romantic!!
We took the engagement process pretty seriously, I guess, since it will be almost 2 years from the day of our engagement when we get married. Both of us wanted to enjoy the anticipation of our wedding for a while and I know it will be worth the wait. If you're reading this you've most likely been invited to the wedding and I hope you'll be able to join us for this celebration of our love for each other!

We are getting married in a gazebo facing the ocean. It's not on the beach so don't worry about shoes that will work in the sand:) The event will be semi-formal so if you're joining us please save the beachwear for the rest of your days in Cancun!

We will be having a cocktail party following the ceremony so our guests can mingle while Scott & I have our first pictures taken as husband & wife. You will all then be escorted to the reception which, weather permitting, will also be outside at the "Lake Terrace". We will have dinner, dancing and other typical reception activities.

Gifts are something I have received many questions about since the very moment we said we were having a destination wedding. In an effort to make travel easier we have an on-line registry accessible at the top of this page. In addition, we will be more than happy with gift cards. I know people sometimes think this will be perceived as impersonal but, believe me, we will appreciate not having to lug gifts back home as much as you will enjoy not having to transport them on the way down! The best way to avoid transport & customs issues is through the use of the on-line resgistry or through gift cards. Gift cards we would could put to immediate use after our honeymoon are American Express, Target, Ikea, Lowes, and Home Depot. We've lived together so long we don't need the typical toasters, blenders and the like but we will need items from each of these retailers for larger projects we plan to start once we get home. After all, if there's anything that can put a marriage to the test it's home improvements. :):)
Travel arangements need to be made through our group wedding coordinator. You have received details in your invitation but if you have questions please call or email me for assistance. Please don't make reservations on-line or through a different travel agency as this will make it very difficult for us to coordinate everything with the wedding planning department. We really appreciate your cooperation!

Our friends and family mean the world to us. Each of you have helped us become who we are today.

Our parents have taught us how to love with compassion, generosity, forgiveness, and passion. Without your love we could not have learned to love and appreciate one another as completely and unconditionally as we do. This is a gift we truly treasure and will lean on throughout our lives.

Our friends give us strength, a shoulder to lean on when things are tough and fun times to share when times are good. We are truly blessed to have a great group of friends who we know we can rely on to get us through the challenges we will face in the future just as you always have in the past.

Thank you all for being a part of our lives. We look forward to sharing many more years of fun & love with each and every one of you!
