Here are some questions that have recently been asked with the answers:

Question: I noticed the original bookings were with Sunwing Vacations and the Most recent are from Signature Vacations.  Are they the same company?

Answer: Yes-Sunwing bought Signature about 4 years ago & should have melted that name as we get asked this all the time.

Question: The reason I am asking, I believe there is a 24 hour onsite Signature concierge and separate check-in for signature vacations.  Will this be available to us as well?

Answer: Your transfer rep will inform you of this, but be sure to tell them that you are a Wedding Group.

Question: How will everyone know what transfer to take after picking up their luggage?

Answer: You will see Reps as soon as you leave customs wearing Orange Shirts & carrying signs there is also a Sunwing booth that you can check-in to. Your names will be on a list.

Question: In a past experience we were warned of “Porters” that try to usher you to a different bus and then expect you to pay for their “service”.

Answer: Yes, this is true, just politely refuse their service offering as Sunwing has their own porters as well.

  • Don't forget to take Dukaral before the trip. 2 doses is required and will prevent travellers diarrhea.
  • Travellers insurance is often not thought of. Please consider it as even a minor trip to a doctor or clinic can be expensive.
  • As the Mexican staff don't get paid a lot of money (often just dollars a day) it is often recommended to travel with plenty of single dollar bills for tipping. Although it is not required, service is always better when they are appreciated.
  • Also, I like to take perfume and cosmetic samples to leave as tips in the room for the housekeeping staff.

Cant believe its only 23 days away!

Well it has been some time since we have updated this site, for a number of reasons including confirmation of events and completion of guest bookings.  But also, life gets in the way sometimes and with our hectic schedules, the wedding details have been pushed to the bottom of the "priority pile"

The honeymoon details have been updated with the wedding registry being created.

Flight information from/to Halifax and Vancouver has been added.

As well, given this day and age of digital photographs and the fact that most everyone has digital cameras or phones from which they take photos, Paul and I have opted out of getting disposable cameras to give out to guests for the wedding week and ceremony.  Instead we have created an online webpage where digital photographs can be uplloaded to it either by computer or smartphone.  There is an app for smartphone users.

All updated information can be found in the tabs to the left.

Just a few updates...

We have finally created a honeymoon registry and are just in the process of putting the finishing touches on it and will be ready soon.

Through word of mouth we have been asking that guests wear beach colors and/or pastel colors on the wedding day...for purposes of the wedding photos.  I have recently become more lax on this request.  One of the teenagers originally had the stance that she did not wish to wear a dress that day.  Well, a few weekends ago, she found a dress that she liked and would wear.  It is white with black lace accents.

Given the fact she agreed to wear a dress is the reason for backing off of the strict dress code.  lol.  So if possible, the dress code still requested, but is not mandatory.

Susan, our travel agent has just recently returned from The Moon Palace and has some shared some pictures for us of the resort and the Nizuc section where our rooms will be.....

The photos are located in the Photo Album tab under "Photos of Us"

We have chosen to spend our week of our honeymoon on the tiny island of Isla Mujeres at the Privilege Aluxes.  We will be staying in the platinum suite.  If you would like to check out the resort click on http://www.privilegehotels.com/

We will be adding our honeymoon/wedding regsitry soon.  Originally we were thinking about a Palace resort on Isla Mujeres and the registry for that ressort would have been attached to this website.  But since we will be staying at a different resort, we will be creating a separate registry site and will attach it to this site to make it easily found.

Stay tuned!!

It was just realized today that there was an error in the wedding invitation.  The invitation states that the rooms for the group booking for the wedding will be in the Sunrise Section.  Instead they will all be in the Nizuc section, which is adjacent to the golf course.

I just want to make sure that everyone is aware...Rooms for their stay for the week and wedding must be booked through the travel agent, Susan Gill.  If it's not done through her, guests attending any wedding function including the wedding itself will be charged to attend.

If you wish to book your own flight, that is fine.

From the different blogs and websites we have looked at over the last several weeks, one of the tips we have seen with regards to travelling to Mexico, is for travellers to have valid passports for 6 months prior to travel and post travel.

Therefore, please check your passports....it only takes 20 business days or less to receive a new passport, but the renewal would have to be done by July for a new passport to be valid for 6 months.

We are so excited to have this website.  It will be updated as we get new information. Also we will be adding travel tips and destination information throughout the upcoming months. New information added will be referred to here on this blog with the dates added.
