Bride

I met Josh within my first couple weeks working at Luminex.  My new boss was taking me around the company for introductions.  We walked into the tech support room and she began to introduce me to the people I would end up working closly with.  Josh was of course playing on a computer in the tech support room when Kathy walked me over to introduce me.  He turned around from the computer and shook my hand.  After shaking my hand he immediatly began fiddling with his ID laynard.  I have come to realize that he does this often.  If you are lucky enough to work with Josh, watch him.  He will at some point fiddle with his laynard while talking to you.  It's adorable!

But this introduction stuff is not the most important part.  The most important part is the way Josh looked at me that day, the first day he met me.  I did no know it then, but Josh fell in live with me right then and there.  I know he did and not just because he has told me.  I knew even before he told me.  I know because Josh still looks at me that same way.  I can not describe it except to say that it is a look filled with love and happiness.  It's so innocent and sweet.  He looks at me like that several times a day and every time he does I feel like my chest will explode.  No one has ever looked at me that way.  And every time he does, it feels like that first day.

I hope our kids will one day find someone that looks at them the way Josh looks at me.

Groom

I had been working on an internal project for our executive team at Luminex for a few months. While I was at my old laboratory, a coworker of mine and I were installing some software when Audrey's manager, Kathy, and Audrey walked through the door. Kathy introduced Audrey to me and that moment was indescrible. On the outside, I was professional and even spoke normal, but on the inside my mind was thinking, she is the one.

In the weeks to come, I made every effort to visit with my coworker friends in Audrey's department and Audrey's cubicle just happened to be next door. Our VP invited us out to a crawfish boil at his house and I heard Audrey was going to be there. I was so nervous the day of the party. After getting there and hanging out for awhile, we started to serve ourselves. Just as I was about to eat with everyone, Audrey shows up with a few of our coworker friends. I immediately got nervous and finished eating. I simply put it out there that we would somehow get together over a conversation and ultimately me asking Audrey out for dinner.

My mom always said, when you meet the one, things just fall in place. Sure enough, mom was right. We all wound down at our VP's house and some of us decided to go bowling.

A few of us decided to go to the Goodnight to play some pool, bowl and enjoy some drinks. Audrey said she was in and I did an internal fist bump. Audrey and I definitely had chemistry and I felt it even more as we played pool. Later in the evening Audrey and I ended up ordering a round of drinks for everyone. While at the bar (I had two gin and tonics), I asked Audrey if she would like to get some dinner sometime. Audrey had the best response ever, 'yes'. Now that made my night and my life would be forever changed. We headed back with the drinks, bowled a little more then it was time to leave.

Everyone said their goodbyes then left the Goodnight. Audrey and I decided to stay and talk out in the parking lot, just outside of the Goodnight door. We ended up talking until about 3 AM and could not believe it when we looked at our phones. That was one of the best nights in my life. Later that week we ended up going out to dinner and really enjoyed going out.

My birthday was coming up and I asked Audrey if she'd like to come down to San Antonio and celebrate my birthday down with me at the Riverwalk. She said yes and I was thrilled! My family fell in love with Audrey the moment they met here and later that weekend my mom said she is the real deal. Our relationship became official on June 13th, 2015 at the Swig. Both our lives were forever changed.
