Steve and I have only known each another for a few short years but what an amazing life we have made together so far...
Steve and I worked at the same company but in different offices around the UK. In December 2009, we met for the first time at the works Christmas party at a hotel in Brentford. We were introduced to one another by a work colleague who had secretly plotted to get us together on the coach whilst making our way down to the party.
Once the ice had been broken (with a few glasses of bubbly), we realised we had quite a lot in common. By the end of the evening we had exchanged numbers and eventually met up again about a week later for a lovely dinner (and even more Champagne) close to where Steve lived. We were enjoying each others company so much that we were oblivous to the snow that had fallen outside. It was beautiful to the eye but a nightmare for a girl in heels!!.
Months went by and Steve and I were still going strong. There had even been light conversation about us maybe getting married one day (music to my ears!!). We travelled to Norway with Steves family to meet his relatives in Oslo and whilst I was there, I came down with a sickness bug that wiped me out for the entire holiday but somehow I managed to muster up the strength to climb TWO extremely large mountains as I didnt want to disappoint Steve. One called 'The Pulpit' which I made all the way up and the other was Kjeragbolten which sadly I didnt even make half way up as I was absolutely exhausted from the first mountain the day before and I was still suffering with that nasty bug.
A few days later we came home and I decided to see my doctor as I was still unwell. To my surprise, this nasty bug I had been suffering with turned out to be a baby! I was pregnant and couldn't wait to meet our bundle of joy. 8 months later Finn was born on the 4th April 2011. Finn has changed both our lives forever and we love watching him grow and develop into the wonderful little boy that he is. He melts our hearts with his little "Finn" ways and is our pride and joy.
Finally to complete our story, Steve proposed to me on the 2nd of October 2012 at the top of the Rockerfeller Building with stunning views across the busy skyline of New York. It was so romantic and a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.
I can't wait to make our little family complete.
