We both agreed that we were life partners and soul mates.  However, my position was that I didn't want to get married and his was that it didn't really matter one way or the other.  On the evening of Janary 3, 2015, in the company of our closest friends in Dallas, Texas, Guy opened a ring box that held his mom's wedding set inside.  He looked into my eyes and said "I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you baby!" 

The room was silent, everyone was "SHOCKED."  Including me! It took me several minutes to realize what was actually taking place.  Then I broke down in tears.  My heart was touched so deeply by Guy's proposal, especially considering that he wanted me to have his mother's wedding set.  He loved, respected and admired her more than anyone.  Dorothy Anna Faye Troupe was Guy's "Shero" and he was her baby boy.  They were very close.
