There are so many things to see and do in the area, it is hard to come up with a short list! Here are a few excursions we are considering, some we have experienced, and some we highly recommend. We also welcome suggestions :)

Cancun Beach Palace

Our plan is to head to Cancun Beach Palace the day after the wedding using our complimentary air conditioned bus transportation to enjoy some swimming in the wavy waters of the Cancun strip (hotel zone). We have all we can eat and drink there too!!!

There are also seadoo rentals for those interested.

We may also extend the outing into a full Cancun excursion into the night at Coco Bongo... if there are others interested in going as a group. Let us know if you are interested as soon as you can so we can get it booked in advance for better rates ;-)

Coco Bongo

Coco Bongo is a blast! The price for Moon Palace is $90 all inclusive (cover, drinks, round trip transportation) but we have a contact for group pricing at Moon Palace. Our group price would be $80 or less depending on number of people in our group. Official site here

Dolphin Swim

Who wants to join us in a swim with dolphins? Moon Palace has their own Dolphinarium right on site! We have the Ultimate Platinum package booked for Wednesday (Jan 21) at 09:00 AM with our resort credit. Book at the same time if you like :-)

Catamaran to Isla Mujeres

Private catamaran to Isla Mujeres, a small secluded island with its own beach club. Includes Snorkeling, domestic open bar, lunch, etc. Website here. We are able to book the private charter for our group for approximately $75 to $90 per person (all inclusive), depending on how many people join us!

We are planning this tour for Monday (Jan 19). Let us know if you are interested :-)

Chichen Itza

A National Geographic world heritage site, details here. Palace resorts also offers a guided tour with lunch included, part of resort credit promo. Cool to see, I was there back when tourists were still allowed to climb it!

Mayan Ruins of Tulum

Why not take in some of the most visited archeological sites in Mexico? Third most visited after Chichen Itza (in Yucatan) and Teotihuacan (in Mexico City). Palace Resorts offer their own half day tour (you can use your resort credit).

Cenotes

Exploring the Mayan wonder of cenotes, natural sinkholes you can swim in/rappel into. There may be a tour with ziplines offered by Palace Resorts. Details here

Xcaret

An eco-archeological park for nature lovers.

This place is lots of fun, it is a huge natural park, highlights include swimming in an underground river, marine animals, and an awesome Mexican show at night where they perform the Mayan ball game (like basketball with a flaming ball they can only touch with their hips) and regional music and dance. I have visited this place twice and loved it. Details here
