A really good friend of mine (pretty much a really good friend of the family at this point) and I went out one night to SALSA dance. I knew the band that was playing at a local spot, and frequently went there for mexican margaritas and to dance! Well, long story short Byron insisted that we leave to go hang out with his "boys" and I was not happy. HAHA! After about 10 years of knowing Byron this was the first time I was going to meet some of his "Boys", quickly I discovered just why that was. We got to this ridiculous small, crowded, ghetto karaoke place. I was not thrilled, I dont even care for karaoke but our friend is a huge fan, so whatever. All I knew was I was going to need tequila shots at this point in the night to keep me happy! Some point, after a few shots, is when I was introduce to Rene. Byron said he was an attorney and at that point in my life I needed one to help me with some stuff! So, you see where this is going... haha... Anyhow, we DID NOT exchange numbers that night, we just talked (about the help I needed) and I'm sure I complained the whole time about how lame the place was. You see I didnt get out much so I wanted to make my night "worth it". A few days later I sent him a message on FaceBook (good ol' FB) to set up a time to discuss some legal stuff. We started texting that day I believe. A few days later in a very sligh manner he asked me to dinner. He left me siting at PF Changs for an hour, lucky for him I was sitting up at the bar wathcing a Spurs game so I hardly noticed! He went on and on about all the places he had visited and I remember thinking, wow this guy is so cocky. A few days later on Valentine's day I discovered he had no plans, I felt so sorry for him so I invited him to dinner! HAHA He lost a major bet that night, he tried arguing with me over how to say directional "right" in spainish. That was the begining of what I like to think is a very interesting LOVE story with lots of juicy twists and turns which led us to today. I can honestly say that can not live with out this cocky man!

At least thats how my version of "our story" went.  We actually met through a mutual friend who was also a fraternity brother of mine.  In the fraternity, we always had a saying (as stupid as it sounds), "Don't leave your girl around me".  Now although, Lea was not his "girl", I think its funny because you see my friend thought he was a pimp bringing all these girls, but he didnt have the game to actually get one.  So  I was at a bar with another fraternity brother, when our mutual friend showed up with some girls, one of which was Lea.  I remember her wearing a tighter fitting teal/turqouise dress and knee high boots.  She had short hair, almost pixie style.  This is all strange because none of that was really my "style".  I seem to remember that as soon as she saw me she couldnt get away from me.  She was constantly complaining that this place was boring, that she wanted to dance salsa merengue, blah blah blah.  The place where we were at was a kareoke bar and she had come from Rosarios...BLAH BLAH BLAH.  All I know is that despite all that whining, she never left the bar and wouldnt stop talking to me!  I had gotten her number because I was going to do some work for her.  We began texting back and forth, until our first date.  I was actually at my Godson's NJHS induction ceremony..  I was with my mom but we had gone in separate cars.  All I know was that I was proud of my Godson for such an awesome achievement, but I wanted everything to be done with so that I could go meet up with Lea.  I even had to ditch my mom.  Sorry mom!  Anyways, we had dinner at P.F. Changs.  I bragged to her about all the places I had been and about how freakin awesome I was.  She fell more and more enamored with me and three days later on Valentine's day, I actually got to meet some of her family, specifically Aunt Julie, Uncle Chris, Alis, Granny, and Analea.  Before meeting everyone, Lea and I had a talk about how we were dating, blah blah blah.  I wasnt worried.  I got this.  From that day on, we hit it off.  There's obviously a lot more to our story, but I'd much rather share that with you in person on a beach somwhere in Cancun.
