Bride

Vincent knew the natural beauty and seclusion of Nantucket would hold a special place in our hearts for years to come and chose The Wauwinet as the backdrop for the romantic proposal.

He told Asefeh to pack her bags for a surprise weekend away as he usually did...but this time something felt different.  That Friday afternoon, on her way to the train station, Asefeh was rushing in her excitement and tripped on the sidewalk.  She sprained her ankle and was unable to walk, but still made it to the train somehow.

Meanwhile, Vincent was rushing too--he had to pick up the custom-made ring he had ordered before picking Asefeh up at the train station.  Little did he know she was barely walking.  They managed to make it to the ferry after a stop for first aid supplies!

When they arrived in the evening in Nantucket, their personal driver was waiting to take them to their "Inn by the Sea."  The 20 minute drive to the Wauwinet was peaceful and cloaked in dark mystery as there were no lights on the island.

The next day was spent relaxing on the beach and taking in the ocean views and air.  Asefeh suspected that something was different about this magical weekend, but Vincent didn't want to tip her off and did his best to keep his secret, even throughout their romantic sunset dinner.

He asked her to take a walk on the beach at sunset, which was quite difficult on a sprained ankle.  They didn't make it very far, and it was a bit chilly, so Asefeh asked to go back inside.  Vincent had planned a romantic proposal at sunset on the beach and wasn't about to let the magical moment fade. As they turned to head back to the resort, Vincent got down on one knee and pulled out a ring!

Asefeh was surprised and overwhelmed with emotion, and after composing herself said YES!

Little did we know that in the far distance there was a woman enjoying the sunset and taking photos.  She approached us after our happy moment and asked if we had just gotten engaged and offered to take a picture of us (the one here!)

Afterwards we called our families, updated our FB status and sat under the stars by the fire reflecting on our romantic journey over champagne and chocolates.

We couldn't have imagined a more perfect place to share such an important milestone.  The Wauwinet and Nantucket will always be our special place to return to relive the magic of our engagement.
