December 1, 2014, Jeff presented Alex with a card. The card described how she would be receiving one card a day counting down the days until Christmas. Each card would have an item printed that represented a time of the season or a memory the two shared.
The two made plans to stay home on Christmas Eve and enjoy some time just the three of them (the puppy included) in their new home. They sat in front of the Christmas Tree and watched each other open their gifts. When they had finished Jeff presented Alex with her 24th card. Alex finished reading the last sentence of Jeff's beautiful words. As she put the card down, her prince was on his knee. While she knows the speech was beautiful, all she can remember hearing is "Alexandra Diane Locke," and "will you marry me" before she said "YES" a million times and fell into his arms. |
