Aristotle said it best: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit."
I have tried very hard to live by these words throughout my life. Being able to achieve so much in my life in a short 29 years has proven to be equally humbling and rewarding. I am truly blessed to have met Asefeh who is unconditionally supportive of my aspirations and enjoys the pleasures of life as much as I do!
I'm excited to begin the next chapter of my life- the culmination of my physician training in Infectious Diseases at the University of Virginia. Up to one million people a year still die of malaria worldwide. During my fellowship training, I will research ways to improve the ability of anti-malarial medications to treat this devastating disease.
When I'm not working, I also enjoy cooking (those who know me best know I am an all-around foodie!), travel, skiing, hiking, fishing, and playing chess.
Thank you all for sharing this moment with us!
