My cousin David introduced Ron & I. David lives in Virginia and Ron is a good friend of his. He said Ron was the best person I would ever meet, has a great heart and is a good friend. He was right!
BUT THAT WAS JUST THE BEGINNING...
When Ron & I first started to talk to one another, I was on vacation in Las Vegas which made it difficult to chat on the phone. But we started texting each other on our cell phones constantly. A day after I returned from my vacation, I drove to school, which is about an hour away, to take a final for class. Ron called me as I headed out. It was our first time talking to each other! I was so nervous and excited at the same time. On my way to school there was horrible traffic. I was on the highway for 3 hours and I missed my final. But Ron & I talked for that entire time. We had such a great conversation. Ron says that after our phone call he called up David and told him "I know you'll think I'm crazy, but I'm in love with your cousin."
Over the phone we fell in love. From the first moment we spoke to one another, we knew we were meant to be together. The next step was to actually meet face to face. I was so excited on the flight to Virginia. I kept thinking "What's going to happen? What if he doesn't like me? What if I don't like him?" I knew this would be a very important day in my life. When I got off the plane and made my way to baggage claim, I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. They were pounding! Ron called me and told me that he was at the airport and he would see me in a few minutes. I grabbed my luggage and waited anxiously for that for first moment! He actually came up from behind me and when I turned around I almost passed out. He was so tall! And he I couldn't believe how handsome he was! I knew I was in trouble and that my life would never be the same.
In July, Ron & the boys moved out to California. The time Ron & I spent apart, loving each other with such a big distance between us, was agonizing. Every day, our hearts hurt not to be able to hug one another, hold each other's hand, or do the little every day life things together. Since his move, Ron & I enjoy every day together and are so appreciative of what we have. For us, our love is a blessing and has a fairty tale ending. We are so thankful we found each other.
Our ceremony will take place June 9, 2007 @ 12:00 pm.
